Our Heartfelt Apologies to all Cougar XR7s Convertible Owners

It has come to our attention that the car used as a generic representative of a Hoopty in our advertising has caused undue stress and despair in the world of "Classic Car" lovers.

We apologize. We never meant to imply that by using a Classic Cougar Convertible (with such a lovely shade of lime green) in our promotion that all such Cougars were "hooptified."

A Cougar owner in addition to providing us with a photo of his vehicle (see above) proudly explained to us the amazing history of the 1972 Cougar XR-7 Convertible w/the 351 Cleveland 2-Barrel (slow off the line but after that, very fast!):

Less than 2,000 were produced and most, if not junked, were parted out to rebuild Mustangs. As far as any records can determine, less than a few hundred remain. Clearly Hooptylicious, it was so very "wrong" to use this classic beauty as your "hoopty Poster Car." I hope, based on this information, you would agree!

We do agree sir - and to make it up to you - we are sending you your very own Carolina Postal Credit Union Emergency Car Care Kit - not that you would ever need it in the amazing Cougar XR-7 Convertible w/the 351 Cleveland 2-Barrel. (Hooptylicious, too, is slow off the line, but you will note, very fast in making up for any personal errors!!!!)

We had no idea that the Cougar XR-7 Convertible w/the 351 Cleveland 2-Barrel is now on the extinction list. And we are proud that you, and other dedicated Cougar lovers, are diligently working to protect and serve the remaining few.

Again, our humble apologies!

Hooptylicious
